Mother Nature: Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

On one of our last days in Cape Town, we visited the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is acclaimed as one of the great botanical gardens of the world. Kirstenbosch was established in 1913 to promote, conserve, and display the extraordinarily rich and diverse flora of southern Africa, and was the first botanical garden in the world to be devoted to a country's indigenous flora. The garden is nestled at the foot of Table Mountain. During the summer, Kirstenbosch hosts concerts in the garden every Sunday evening. The garden is truly one of the many natural beauties of Cape Town.
