Winelands

After an amazing nine days in Cape Town, it was time to begin our journey home. Our first stop was heading north of the city to Franshoek, an old town in the winelands. Our plan for the day was to take a winetram that would take us around to five different vineyards.

The first vineyard we visited was Dieu Donne Vineyard. We got to taste a Sauvignon Blanc 2012, Chardonnay (Wooded) 2011 [this one was absolutely amazing], Merlot 2010, and a MCC Brut Rose 2010.

The second vineyard we tasted at was Chamonix. We were lucky and got a new girl that was in training so needless to say we got five very full glasses of wine.

Our last tasting was at Rickety Bridge. Before arriving at this vineyard, we got off our tram and hopped on a train that took us to this vineyard since it was a bit more off the road than the other vineyards.

Having some fun in the back of the train.

After Rickety Bridge, we took the tram back to town where we wandered around for a little while. We then headed to our backpacker for the night. We ended up staying in an extremely rustic cabin. It was fun to just stay in and have a relaxing night with all the girls!
